The Walnut Grove Christmas Party was a sellout, just like other years. It was a wonderful evening of fellowship with friends and neighbours. Photos were provided by Frank Cuvelier.

There is no shortage of talent in Walnut Grove, and today a number of the artisans gathered their creations together for a community showing. We're grateful for them taking their time for this, if you missed it this year, watch the calendar for next year.

Armand on his 80th Birthday

Walnut Grove was out in full force for the rib dinner in September, which just happened to coincide with Armand's birthday. So naturally, the occasion was marked with a special hat and cake. Armand was also recognized for the significant contribution he has made to the community through his continuing management of the WG Community Centre. Click on images to enlarge. Esc to escape.

Is there a farmer in this group?

Actually, there is. Did you miss the Pork Pull? It was all about looking like a farmer, and loving pork. Pork, and apple pie. Full house once again, and lots of laughs. Good job, social committee. Click on the photo for a larger version.

Pancake Breakfast a Big Success

It's an early Saturday morning start, but getting a big turnout for a pancake breakfast turns out to be no big deal.

Kathie and Claude Regis get the credit (this is their deal), but as usual it takes a community, and they had plenty of help.

Morning Exercise is Good For You

Walnut Grove Tuesday morning Walker Size

Big screen TV, and a wide open space is just about all you need. Exercising with friends and neighbours is all the motivation this group needs to get out and get moving. Everyone in WG is welcome.

First Friday July

First Fridays in Walnut Grove are always fun. You bring a salad or dessert and you enjoy what amount to a potluck dinner with a BBQ thrown in.

Here are a few of the faces from the July evening. It was a wonderful summer evening, a perfect time for enjoying the outside deck and patio. A fun evening with friends and neighbours.

Speaking of the deck, maybe this is a good time to once again acknowledge the volunteers who built and maintain the deck under the very capable leadership of master carpenter Paul Gow (pictured below).

What a difference a year makes

Mix in a little natural precipitation (and there has been plenty of that so far this year), weed treatment, which is finally starting to have an effect, and some extra attention from a number of people backing onto the common areas, and here's what you get.

Summer is on the way

A sure sign that summer is on the way is when First Friday barbeques move outdoors.

The outdoor patio has been given a spring spruce-up, awnings are out, the place is ready to go.

Mary and Bonnie took on the cooking chores at this First Friday in May.
